Strutter Safety!

Thank you for your continued support and trust in the South Texas Strutters. As with the transmission of any communicable disease like a cold or the flu, you may be exposed to COVID-19, also known as the “Coronavirus”, at any time or in any place. Be assured that we have always followed state and federal regulations to limit transmission of all diseases in our studios and continue to do so.


Despite our careful attention to sterilization, disinfection, and use of personal barriers, there is still a chance that you could be exposed to an illness in the studio, just as you might be at your gym, grocery store or favorite restaurant. Social distancing has reduced the transmission of Coronavirus. Although we have taken several measures to provide social distancing and contactless participation, please know that participation in South Texas Strutters instructional classes is at your own risk.


We strive to the best of our ability to practice all CDC and governmental recommendations. 

Pandemic Guidelines

Classroom Procedures

  • No persons will be allowed to enter the studio with a fever, cough, or any form of illness.

  • All Staff is required to wear a mask during class time. 

  • Masks are optional for Strutters under the age of 10 years old. 

  • All Strutters and staff will practice social distancing at a minimum of 6 feet apart during all classes. 

  • Treat bags will not be sent home until further notice. 

  • We will not be changing shoes during classes in order to practice proper social distancing. Please do not send a bag to class with your strutter. 

    • Ballet & Tap Classes - Ballet Shoes

    • Jazz & Hip Hop Classes - Tan Half Soles

    • Lyrical & Prop - Tan Half Soles 

    • Competitive Classes - Tan Half Soles 

    • Acro - Barefoot

Drop Off Procedures

  • Please stay in your car until you see a staff member open the door. 

  • It is very important to arrive at class on time. 

  • Only Strutters & staff will be allowed in the hallways and studios. 

  • Before entering the building, each Strutter must sanitize their hands at the door.

  • Strutters will have their temperature taken upon entrance.

  • Sanitizer will be available at each entrance, if you choose to use your own please do so in front of a staff member.

  • Each location will have a labeled designated entrance and exit 

Pick Up Procedures 

  • Parents must walk up to designated pick up areas in order to pick up your Strutter. 

  • Strutters will not be permitted to walk to their car. 

  • It is very important to pick up your Strutter on time. 

Dance Showcase Procedures 

  • Maximum of 10 customers in Dance Showcase at all times. 

  • All customers must practice social distancing at all times. 

  • Dressing Rooms are closed - all purchased items can be taken home to try on and returned for sizing.

  • Countertops and Pens will be sanitized after every customer use.

  • Door handles and common areas will be sanitized after heavy traffic times.

  • All staff is required to wear a mask. 

Staff Procedures

  • All staff is required to wear a mask at all times during class. 

  • All staff must be familiar with Strutter Pandemic Guidelines.

  • Bathrooms 

    • 1 Strutter at a time 

    • Sanitize after every use with sanitize spray. 

    • Strutters must wash hands after going to the bathroom.

    • Main Studio C 

      • Need to exit the building and go around to the hallway bathroom 

  • Spots 

    • Each Strutter needs to be placed on every other spot

    • Strutters CANNOT LEAVE SPOT 

      • No formation changes - walk in place on spot 

      • No partners - pretend on spot 

      • No lifts - pretend

  • Equipment Use

    • Pre plan - have them get any equipment they may need for class before they go to their spots or staff will need to distribute to individuals 

    • Must be sanitized at the end of every class when used

    • If you plan to use more than once, have them place equipment near them to ensure they use the same equipment throughout the class

    • At the end of class line up equipment and sanitize 

  • Acro 

    • Strutters will be placed on a spot 

    • Call them up one at a time

    • Do not do anything they need spotting on (until further notice) 

      • Work on conditioning and technique of already mastered skills

    • Sanitize mats after every class

  • Property 

    • Anything that a Strutter brings to class needs to be placed next to them or some place near them in order to ensure proper social distancing 

  • Personal Sanitizing

    • Staff must sanitize their hands before every new class

  • End of Day

    • Sanitize EVERYTHING thoroughly
